The project will enhance journalism standards in reporting corruption and will strengthen the capacity of the media in playing their crucial role in the fight against corruption. The starting base is an in-depth qualitative analysis of the media articles about corruption in the selected media during whole 2008. The weaknesses in the reporting detected during the monitoring, together with the qualitative analysis and the draft-recommendation for improving the standards will be presented on a workshop with relevant media representative. A special training for journalists will ensure that these commonly agreed new standards will be put into practice. The implementation of this project will help in overcoming one of the ten biggest challenges for an effective implementation of the State anti-corruption program, i.e. improper coverage of the corruption in the media.

One of the activities that CGK undertook involving strengthening the capacity of the organization was an informal two-day workshop held in mid-July (10-12 July 2009). 13 participants were attending this meeting, all if them from different professions, organizations, with different skills and interests, and were to help improve establish few documents to improvement and strategic planning of the Center for Civil Communications. All participants are familiar with the work of CGK and collaborated with the organization of various projects.
