Mapping the risks of corruption in public procurement in 8 municipalities in the country
A network of nine non-governmental organizations led by the Center for Civil Communications made an assessment of the risks of corruption in public procurement in eight municipalities of the country: Bitola, Kichevo, Kumanovo, Negotino, Strumica, Tetovo, Chair and Shtip. The research focused on public procurement carried out by municipalities and local public enterprises. The research was conducted on the basis of a unified methodology that is based on 18 indicators and covers all stages of public procurement cycle, enabling a clear picture of the potential risks of corruption at the level of each institution. Key problems and how to overcome them can be found in the reports prepared within the framework of the project "Safeguards Against Corruption" which is implemented with the financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Skopje.
