Empowering Youth Voices: Responsibility, Integrity, Solidarity, and Civic Engagement in the Balkans
The RISE Balkans initiative is seeking motivated and engaged young people to join an exciting peer-leadership program – Youth Civic Drivers. The selected participants will be trained as facilitators of Good Governance Clinics – interactive, thematic workshops designed to bring governance closer to citizens and to equip young people with the tools to make their voices heard. The Youth Civic Drivers is a structured leadership development journey with dedicated training, mentoring and the opportunity to co-design new learning initiatives for your peers.
What is a Youth Civic Driver?
A Youth Civic Driver is a young person who:
- Believes in the importance of transparency, accountability and active citizenship;
- Is willing to learn and then teach others about good governance principles;
- Can commit to a structured program and facilitation over one year;
- Wants to co-design new civic learning activities based on real needs and interests of their peers.
Program Structure
Selected Youth Civic Drivers will participate in the following phases across the project:

| 1 | Selection | Through an open call for candidates |
| 2 | Training of trainers | On-site training program covering facilitation skills, governance principles, democratic participation, youth-led engagement, etc. |
| 3 | Good Governance Clinics | Co-facilitation of thematic Good Governance Clinics alongside project experts |
| 4 | Co-design Activities | Proposal, development and leadership of new civic learning activities based on youth needs and interests |
What We Offer?
Youth Civic Drivers selected for the program will receive:
- A structured on-site Training of Trainers program;
- Ongoing mentoring and expert support;
- Active involvement in the design and delivery of new civic learning initiatives;
- A Certification of Completion issued upon successful fulfilment of the program commitments;
- Networking opportunities with peers, CSOs and governance experts across Western Balkans countries,
- The chance to build lasting civic skills that opens doors to further education, civic roles and professional opportunities.
Who can apply?
This call is open to young people who meet the following eligibility requirements:
Age: Between 18 and 26 years old
Residency: North Macedonia
Availability: Able to commit to the full program, including attending on-site training, facilitating clinics and contributing to co-design activities
Motivation: Demonstrated interest in civic engagement, democracy, transparency and related fields

All eligible applications will be reviewed based on the open call requirements and will receive a final decision and notification of the outcome.
