Overall objective of the project is to combat corruption in public procurement by empowering citizens to effectively scrutinize public tenders and become more informed about abuses, thereby fostering institutional accountability and reducing the impunity that perpetuates corruption. The project aims at improving transparency, accountability and efficiency in spending public money by fostering and promoting the use of beneficial ownership data in the fight against corruption. It is expected the project to contribute to the actual use of data from the Registry of Beneficial Owners as an instrument in the fight against corruption.

The project analyses the spending of public money in Macedonia in terms of transparency, competition and equal treatment of companies, non-discrimination, economic, efficient, effective and rational use of public funds, the endeavor to get the best offer under the most favorable conditions as well as accountability for public spending.
